Bigger & Better Things ::

We’ve come to a fork in the road. We received an opportunity from people who want to see us do well at something we really love that has a potentially great deal of prestige, growth & development rolled into it. Postage, Inc. is not necessarily closing its doors, but rather changing direction into a new venture: Second Fiction, LLC. The existing crew at Postage is now employed by this new entity and we are in the process of hiring a few more people to make it happen.

Postage, Inc. had the pleasure of serving clients like Sprout!, Astra Zeneca, Cisco Systems, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Alfred Angelo Bridal, Penske, Harsco, and many many more. It’s been an amazing ride providing top notch post production, animation and visual effects services for these clients and we hope that our growth and triumphs and theirs were intertwined. That’s how we have always sought to do business.

Through much of our time together as Postage, Inc., My partner Joseph Krzemienski & I have explored the world of mobile apps and the future of gaming. In this exploration, we created several titles which did quite well. From this creation, we also learned a lot. It is exciting to think of how we will apply our experience to the next level as we focus 100% on creating fantastic video game titles for our new customers… Mobile, PC, and Console GAMERS. For those of you who were close to us and perhaps, haven’t had a project or reason to come by and visit, we really look forward to telling you more about Second Fiction. We plan to keep postagevfx.com open for the time being and as a way to lead people to our new venture and to showcase work we’ve done through the years as an homage to our great clientele and the fantastic producers and agencies for whom we worked.

Thanks again to all our clients, our followers, our friends. Keep an eye here or to some of the links below to discover what Second Fiction has in store for the gaming world within the next several months!

YOU SHOULD KEEP AN EYE ON US! :)

PRESS SUCCESS – WE ARE CAJUN ::

Kickstarter isn’t only a way to fund important projects that would mean a lot to a lot of people.  Sometimes your losing campaign is a significant win win in the way of promotions.  Crowd-sourced funding turns out to be a substantial way to promote your project whether or not you reach your funding goal.

This, however, requires a lot of hard work.  I dedicated long hours on the phone, on email, and even filming my own half of interviews for television stations to get the word out.  In the end, my latest documentary film, We Are Cajun, may not be funded… VIA KICKSTARTER… but it’s now a project that has emotional backers and got a lot of play in a short period of time.  A fantastic promotional blast.

Here’s a few examples of where you can now find information about the film:

WHERE DID SARAH GO? ::

It was spring of 2009 when Sarah Rebar packed up and moved to New York. She had just completed an apprenticeship with Joseph Krzemienski at Postage, Inc. / theFictory

Her new environment brought her into an internship with Animation Collective in New York as well as a freelance design job with Monkey Doodle Dandy eventually landing her regular employment with the toy design company.
Seeking a multitude of options in her field, Sarah acquired a prop design internship at the commercial co. PandaPanther.  She had the opportunity to work as a prop designer and painter on two pop tarts commercials.
She even did some work for Columbia University’s Education Lab, as an After Effects animator and graphic designer.  While taking several night classes at SVA, Sarah met a woman who worked at Sesame Workshop on “The Electric Company.” “It was all being at the right place at the right time.” says Sarah. After applying, Sarah acquired a Production Assistant position there.
During her preliminary year on staff at Sesame Workshop, Sarah did little relating to her background.
“They had me doing a lot of grunt work at their offices in Manhattan archiving artwork, finding stuff for producers, helping out the art director and occasionally getting a chance to do some graphic design and flash animation. Now it’s almost 2 years working at Sesame Workshop, and currently I’m working as an artist / animator on some HTML 5 games we are designing for web and apps — mostly so that these games are played on iPad and iPhone devices. It’s been a very interesting experience, and a lot of my random backgrounds in packaging, design, and animation are all coming into play.”
It’s nice to hear the stories of hard work and payoff from those in the art field like Sarah because artists don’t always have the luxury of working in their field right away. We’re proud of Sarah and feel very privileged when she drops by the office during brief trips to Lancaster.
