ATOMIC ROBO IN SECOND-TIER PRODUCTION ::

Weekend sessions have resumed for Postage sister-studio, “thefictory” in their creation of a short film, “Atomic Robo – Last Stop” which is an adaptation or even, an exclusive episode of the popular Red 5 comic series.

A quick stroll online would illuminate the comic’s uber-fandom, something creaters Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener don’t take for granted.  In fact, they carefully stoke and fuel the fires on their blog which contains everything Robo.

As far as thefictory is concerned, this is an ideal project to sink their teeth into for several reasons including it’s independent popularity but also the ability for a short film to increase it’s readership/viewership.  Many talented friends of Postage/thefictory have been working tirelessly to keyframe, tween, color, animate and anything else you can imagine would go into an animated short film.  It’s really amazing to see the animation staff here go into action and you can visualize a dotted line going from one computer to a light table into a pencil and back to another computer… a virtual, etheral assembly line. Daily video updates reveal that the work has a final destination and a purpose.

As with previous projects, Joseph and thefictory haven’t exactly set a finish date yet. When it is done it’s done. A comfortable change from commercial production work… it really allows them to finesse the project and bring it to it’s full potential.  You can keep up-to-date by visiting thefictory.com blog where Director Joseph Krzemienski keeps tentative eyes fed.

QUICK UPDATE ::

We apologize for a recent lack of updates but here’s a few points of interest:

• Allen will be attending the Faux Film Festival in Portland, OR this weekend to show support for the airing of The Dwarves PSA and do a question and answer session following the film for festival go-ers. We are very proud to be a part of it.

• Our website will soon have a new format but with the same general look. We wanted it to be more dynamic and have fresh news and ideas for everyone. The new site will incorporate our twitter feed (#postagevfx) and have much more news, reviews, & info for the video world.

• The Postage World Headquarters has received a pretty significant overhaul… equipment, layout, & decor.  We look forward to sharing that with our edit-in clientele.  Keep an eye here for pictures and we’re considering doing a re-grand-opening (light affair) to break in the renovated space, and Postage, Inc. as a corporation.The new equipment mentioned includes a new Mac Pro Eight Core Animation Workstation and an all new edit suite capable of up to 2K workflows.

• Joe has been working hard on the weekends with our team of guerilla illustrators on “Atomic Robo, Last Stop”  You can see production stills at http://www.thefictory.comTake care! …and thanks for being patient while we regroup the webpage.
