SCREEN SHOT FRIDAY 110513 ::

Friday the thirteenth! And we’ve been very luckly lately! Great clients, great new tech and great artwork!

Here's a sneak peak at some story-interstitials for the Chameleon Documentary. Drawn by Jeff McComsey... these are emulations of the great Karl Heitmueller's famous flyers for the club.

Today, we’ll be on our way to pick up the footage that WITF is licensing to us for use in the film… It’s from their XYZ program from “back in the day.” It features the interior design of the Chameleon Club back in the 90s. Read the rest of this entry »

INTERVIEW WITH THE MAYOR ::

Jason Pohlig, Joanna Hornstein and myself had a great time discussing where Chameleon Club fits into the city of Lancaster, PA with Mayor Rick Gray. He gave us a number of helpful insights into the great relationship the club has with the city government and police and where Lancaster is heading as a city.  Look for parts of our interview in the upcoming documentary, The Chameleon Club.

We also received a fantastic piece of footage shot on 16mm from Mark Eaton at Bang! Pictures in Philadelphia. The footage features a very talked about 1995 LIVE show following their world tour for Throwing Copper.  Thanks Mark!

I’m often asked when the film will be done and the short answer is that we’re shootin’ for festival season this year (and early next).  Keep an eye to postagevfx.com for festival and local screenings as well as the release of the much anticipated DVD.

The Word from Logos ::

Logos Academy is still getting great use out of their multi-purpose video. It worked for their capitol campaign. It worked for helping the community to understand what they do and it worked for prospective students!

Abigail Baer, Logos Advancement Administrative Assistant said this about the results:

“We love our video and are extremely satisfied with how versatile it is. We’ve used it in numerous presentations—from churches to baseball stadiums. It is one of the best tools we have to communicate our mission and vision. Producing the video was a very exhausting process, but it was a blast and the results are worth it.”

We can’t forget that this was a partnership with the fabulous Karen Saxe formerly of Bright Ideas and now a member of York’s exciting NetSpray enterprise. And a big contributor to the videos continued success is the fantastic video and production skills of Derek Lau as our DP for that exhausting but rewarding day. Thanks to all and we hope Logos continues to reap the benefits of working with Postage, Inc.

C.I. Records gives a Lancaster documentary a musical foundation ::

Lancaster’s home-grown indie record label, C.I. Records, is no stranger to the fundamental inspiration that the venue has provided to Lancaster over the years. In the spirit of our upcoming documentary featuring history and stories about the Chameleon since 1987, C.I. has offered a great portion of it’s catalog for the soundtrack.  Probable soundtrack contributors from their label include Texas in July, The Pink Spiders, Sadaharu and Sensefield among others.

During his interview for the documentary, owner Jeremy Weiss sites the Chameleon and it’s founder Rich Ruoff as inspirational to his own operation. At this point C.I. and the venue have an incredible synergy.  The label/record store which sits directly aside the venue feeds the scene and the club just the same.

In addition to the kindness that C.I. has shown in donating much needed material, Mark Eaton, (Bang Pictures) a professional documentarian himself has offered some crucial, dated footage to the cause.

Another Chameleon lover and displaced Lancastrian has suggested a West-Coast screening upon completion.  I think that the people who are literally coming out of the woodwork to support the Chameleon Club’s story is a testament of it’s impact on music in the United States.
