PROOF OF PURPOSE:: “THE CHAMELEON CLUB” ::
LANCASTER PREMIERE EVENING
We sat in the theatre and ran tests. Harvey Owen wanted to get it just right. “From the top!”, shouted Harvey. The film was digitally re-racked and we waited for our cues. Lit by the flickering of the first hundred frames of my latest film, the Ware center’s modern and purpose-filled acoustical structure looked like the inside of some giant space ark ready to take off. It made me wish that the intro to the film was the scrolling storyline of “A New Hope.” But I guess, you can’t recreate that sort of greatness. It was at rehearsal that I realized the gravity of what “The Chameleon Club” (A Documentary Film) was experiencing.

THE CHAMELEON CLUB ARRIVES IN SOUTH LOUISIANA ::
This weekend, The Southern Screen Film Festival will commence in Lafayette, Louisiana, The heart of Cajun Country. The festival will be held in the downtown/university area of the city at multiple venues. Lafayette, LA happens to be the birthplace of Postage Principal/Documentary Director Allen Clements so it’s an especially sweet area screening for Clements.
Also interesting is the fact that Chubby Carrier of Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band is interviewed as part of the Documentary film as Chubby played at the club throughout the years as part of his regular Zydeco touring circuit. (Sidenote: Chubby Carrier recently received what may be the last Grammy in the Zydeco category of the awards.)
In addition to that local Zydeco favorite, the film also features interviews with acts that were made or nurtured by the venue including August Burns Red, The Innocense Mission, LIVE, and Joan Osborne.
The Chameleon Club Documentary was recently submitted to Austin’s SXSW film festival for consideration and plans are being made for a local Lancaster, PA screening as well as eventual DVD/digital distribution.

- We’re working on and negotiating many very exciting projects. We are really looking forward to telling you more about all of those as they come to fruition.

- Postage, Inc. in coordination with Dantinne Design just finished several US trips involving research for a National PSA project we’ve been working on. More on that as the production progresses.
- The Chameleon Club documentary has been sent to several film festivals. We have our fingers crossed and we hope you do too! We’ll let you know when it’s accepted and where you can see the film.
That being said, here’s a clue to some of the things we’re working on in todays installment of Screen Shot Friday. All the best to all of you. Have a great weekend!

Joseph is working on some very cool Motion Graphic content for a great product called Verbble in association with Fathom Design.

On the left you have Courtland "vectorizing" some fancy phones for the Verbble project. On the right, Allen was crunching some numbers for the NSVRC's market research.

And lastly, an ongoing project with Drogaris Companies in Lancaster, PA for their exciting new renovated live/work project, Liberty North.
