PUTTING ON OLD “SPECS” ::

From time to time, even I’ve engaged in some speculative work. Most of which the clients love but don’t have the budget for. Well, a recent post about Stick it in Your Earhole reminded me of a spec project I did with co-host Damian Eby for Tom’s Convenience Stores. In the end the video-at-the-pump model didn’t go through but we had fun putting a rough virtual set together and playing with a zany newscast idea.

SCREENSHOT FRIDAY 100716 ::
Greetings visitors!
We are often asked what it is we’re working on at any given moment. Certain projects are hush-hush. Others are just hard to describe. I think I’ve figured out a way to share a bit without going into too much detail or letting cats out of bags… Screen Shot Friday.
Screen Shot Friday will represent quite literally what we’re working on at the time. No primping or special treatment! While I can’t promise it will be every Friday we’ll do our best.
Here’s the first round!

What you’re looking at: an in-progress 3d representation of Manhattan for an upcoming music video.
Artist: Allen

What you’re looking at: a shot, in development for an orthopedic, brain, spine, sports medicine private practice in Lancaster.
Artist: Joe
What you’re looking at: rough edits, pre-treatment for the Baby Loves Disco promo video.Artist: Ashley

TESTING… 1… 2… PODCAST? ::
A while back, Joseph and I sat down and talked “nerd” for a while. It was enjoyable, and from our recordings we made a podcast. Unfortunately this was the first and the last. Our free trial on some feed site has expired and well, it’s gone. A friend suggested we make a podcast and upload certain content that we’re working on, make compilations or collages of vfx shots or spec work, style sheets, etc. We could even use it for tutorials and the like!
Hope you enjoy! We intend to keep the podcast feed populated with obscure content! Maybe even another talk-show style audio podcast from Joe and I when things get slow.

WELCOME TO POSTAGEVFX.COM v3.0 ::
Well it’s here, the new Postage, Inc. website. If you’re a first time visitor, we’ve migrated our blog posts from the old site, so dig in and get a feel for what we do and what we’re into. For those of you who are regular visitors, we hope the wordpress base makes it easier for you to find what you’re looking for and what you’re interested in.
Joe and I would like to thank Good Productions for their hard work on this. If you need to get your data untangled and accessible, Jeff Rummel is a good person to talk to.
Again, for the first-timers, what you’ll find here is information, experience and opinions about motion graphics, visual effects, 3D and 2D animation as well as technologies that are becoming more widely available and affordable. We hope that everyone from the seasoned multi-media artist to the curious art-lover will enjoy the site and it’s contents.
We post information about productions we’re working on. (The ones that don’t fall under “top-secret” classification) as well as reviews on the new equipment and software we get in at the Postage world headquarters. Those projects which are more secretive… well, we hope that they will be unveiled sooner or later or you’ll just happen to see our names in the credit of the movie. We just have to deal with hollywood politics sometimes
We spread good news about friends and associates and express our love for Lancaster, PA, a big bursting bucket full of creative minds, passionate individuals and hearty farmland. If you’re reading this, we’re excited that you’ve already decided to be a part of our web presence and we hope that you find yourself interacting with it regularly.
Hey community!… Let’s continue making great media together.
