The Fictory, intitolato “Atomic Robo: Last Stop“.

REFOCUSING ON COMEDY ::

REPOST FROM THEFICTORY: This past Thursday, Damian Eby and Parker Lindstrom, long time friends of theFictory and Postage, Inc., sat down and recorded some tracks. We were working from a script based on a world we been trying to really dive into, on and off for the past few months. Well we got some great stuff and I look forward to getting some more voices down so we can really get cooking on the animation.
[At Postage, Inc. / the Fictory], working on comedic animation is very different from more narrative or commercial applications. Sure, at the end of the day, many of the same techniques are used, but the journey to get to a finished project vary dramatically (no pun intended, I swear!). With something like our American Terror: Company Man or our upcoming Atomic Robo short, we begin with a plan. We massage that plan, working out the kinks until it’s as perfect as we can make it. From that point we put on our production hats and get things done. But with comedy it’s a much more organic process. Comedy is all about timing and living in the moment. That’s why we never say we’re going to do anything for sure it’s a constantly changing animal.
I’m excited to see where the comedy carries us. While we wait, be sure to check out Parker and Damian’s podcast STICK IT IN YOUR EARHOLE.

FRESH WATER IN OUR CREATIVE POOL ::
Postage would like to welcome Stephen Campbell and Courtland Ellis as the Winter 2010 interns.
Courtland is working towards his associates in specialized technology, visual arts at Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia. He spends some of his time away from studies working on illustration and motion projects with us here at the studio. Courtland is proficient in illustration as it applies to traditional animation and is already a part of a soon-to-be-announced animated short.
Stephen attends Lebanon Valley College and is spending his internship working on in-betweening, 3D modeling/animation as well as programming expressions and scripts for use in general workflow and specific projects.
We are incredibly pleased with both interns as they have a common level of talent, creativity and motivation. Welcome aboard, gentlemen! Postage is currently interviewing two additional interns.
